An asthma educator is an expert in teaching, educating, and counseling individuals with asthma and their families, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to minimize asthma’s impact on their quality of life. It is vital that professionals involved in all levels of asthma education uphold the highest standards of care. AAE membership supports this mission by providing exclusive educational opportunities, including AAE conferences, specialized programs, study materials, and the National Asthma Educator Certification Review Courses. Members also receive updates on the certification process from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Additionally, AAE connects educators to a global community, offering opportunities to collaborate with peers, engage in special projects, and work directly with the Board of Directors through one of six working committees focused on membership, fundraising, program planning, communications, ethics, and strategic planning.
